There’s many ways in which we, as business owners, can grow our audience and expand our outreach. In this post, I’m going to share my top 10 tips on how to do so authentically, naturally, and successfully.

1. Be authentic-

This tip HAD to go first because without this, nothing else you’re going to read will matter. Your business and your brand NEED to be authentic to you, your values, and your goals. Because if your business and the image you put out to your audience doesn’t feel good to you, then your audience will pick up on that energy and you most feel fulfilled- and we can’t have any of that! So sit down, take some time, and put some deep thought into creating a brand that feels good to you and that authentically aligns to how you want to run your business and how you want it to be perceived by others.

2. Be unique-

Usually if you nail tip 1, this tip naturally follows but I still think it’s important to add in here. Make sure your brand and business are as special and rare as you are. Let your uniqueness shine through and attract the perfect audience, who see the real you and fall in love.

3. Have branding that’s aligned to the type of people you’re trying to attract-

While yes, your business should feel aligned to you and your unique self BUT it is just as important that it also aligns to your ideal audience. Think of the exact perfect individual who you would be so ecstatic to work with or have them find your product. Your brand needs to be attractive to them and make them feel like they are in the right place.

4. Keep your brand consistent-

Consistency is key in so many facets of life and your business’ brand is no different! Make sure your brand is consistent in the way you show up, your graphics, your tone, your DMs, your copy/content, your imagery, your offers, and so on. Your colors, fonts, design elements, and vibe need to be cohesive and feel like they’re all seamlessly a part one big thing(your brand).

5. Stop trying to be like everyone else in your field-

I see this so much and have even fallen victim to it myself! We see someone else doing what we want to do and being successful doing it, and want to be just like them so we end up “copying” them in a way(whether consciously or subconsciously). Most of the time we really don’t mean to but we forget that the reason why THEY are successful is because they, more often than not, did things DIFFERENTLY. They were the first one to show up how they did and be the answer to their specific audience. So make sure not to fall in the trap of “oh if I do things just like them, I’ll be exactly where they are in no time!” It’s simply not true and ends up leaving you unaligned(remember tip 1) and fading into the background. You want to stand out in your market not blend right in!

6. Have a well designed, on-brand website for your audience to always be able to turn to, learn from, and use to get to know you and reach out to you-

Websites are a vital part to growing your audience. They make your life as a business owner 1000x easier and allow your audience to find you and have all your information organized beautifully all in one place. Not to mention, having a website where you can offer things like freebies or products so that you can then add more people to your email list is a HUGE help for growing your online audience!

7. Have consistent social medias-

As we already know consistency is key, so make sure you’re keeping your social medias consistent to your brand as well.

8. Continually update, optimize, and manage your website-

We want to keep our website quick, neat, and fresh both on the front end and back end. This doesn’t mean I would recommend constantly making changes to the from end of your website but also introduce new or updates sections from time to time. Also make sure your website speed is as fast as possible to boost your SEO and make the visitor experience as enjoyable as possible. No one likes to wait 10 mins for a page to load. 9. Get your audience excited with killer design in your business-

Whether it’s your logo, color palette, font choices, social media graphics, promo materials, website, or whatever, it should be looking BOMB. When our graphic design within our business is on-point, it releases a sort of love potion effect on our audience bc it just looks so attractive. It’s a win-win: your audience is obsessed with your brand and you look stunningly professional and kick-ass!

10. Build those know, like, and trust factors!-

Once you do the work to figure out what your brand is, what it looks like, who it’s speaking to, and what emotions it’s supposed to convey in that audience- you are able to start establishing strong know, like, and trust within your audience. When your audience starts seeing you show up authentically and they get to KNOW you. They see your stunning brand, are instantly attracted to it, and they begin to LIKE you. Over time, they see you showing up consistently with this authentic stunning brand and they now actually TRUST you. So when we put it all together, establishing know, like, and trust with your audience results in an audience filled with fans that genuinely like you and trust you enough to buy from you/work with you.
